To set up a Dolphin Anty proxy, create or edit a profile, choose New proxy, and enter your proxy as host:port:login:password. Mark the type as SOCKS5, as Dolphin's help page describes.
Elusive proxies are SOCKS5 with a login and password, delivered as HOST:PORT:USER:PASS. That is a format Dolphin accepts as it is.
Below is the full flow, from the first click to the leak check.
Key takeaways
- Elusive proxies work as SOCKS5 only. Mark the type as SOCKS5 when you add the proxy.
- Dolphin accepts host:port:login:password in one line, and has a check button next to the proxy.
- Match the profile's timezone, language and geolocation to the proxy's location yourself, then verify.
- One proxy per profile, and run a DNS and WebRTC check before using the profile.
What you need
A Dolphin Anty account and one Elusive proxy. In the dashboard, copy it as HOST:PORT:USER:PASS.
A short guide to picking the type. Sticky residential works for most jobs and uses IPs of real home connections. Mobile uses 4G/5G carrier IPs. Hosting is quick and low-cost, with the least trust on consumer platforms. The full comparison is in which proxy for which job. You can browse the live catalog at Elusive.
Sticky proxies keep their IP up to 24 hours and run on real devices, so one can go offline sooner.
Add a proxy to a new Dolphin Anty profile
Dolphin's documentation lists several places to add a proxy: while creating a profile, while editing one, or on the Proxy screen. The profile route is the quickest. The names below follow Dolphin's help center. Your version may differ a little.
- Create a new browser profile and give it a name.
- In the proxy field, choose New proxy. The other options are No proxy and picking one you saved earlier.
- Enter the proxy in one of the supported formats. Dolphin lists host:port, host:port:login:password and login:password@host:port. For Elusive, use host:port:login:password.
- Set the type to SOCKS5. Dolphin's help page says the type can be written in front of the proxy line. Check the help page for the exact way in your version, and don't assume SOCKS5 is picked by default.
- Click the arrows at the right end of the proxy line to run the check.
- Save the profile and start it.
You can also add the proxy on the Proxy screen with Add Proxy, then select it in a profile. That works well when you buy several proxies at once.
Check the connection
Dolphin's docs say the arrows check the proxy's connection, geolocation and time zone. A red result or an error on start usually points to a bad type, a typo, or a proxy that is down.
Two more quick checks. Open any page that shows your IP inside the profile and compare country and city with your dashboard. Geo databases disagree on cities from time to time, which our post on proxy location mismatches explains.
Set timezone, language and geolocation
A profile should look like it sits where its IP sits. If the proxy is in Texas and the profile reports a European timezone and language, platforms may ask you to confirm the login.
In the profile's settings, set timezone, language and geolocation to match the proxy's country or city. Dolphin's docs say you can adjust these by hand when editing a profile. Your version may also set them from the proxy automatically, so check what it does and correct it if needed.
Steps and what to match are in match timezone to proxy.
Leak checks inside the profile
Start the profile and test from there. Run a DNS leak check, then a WebRTC leak test.
What you want: the proxy's IP and no sign of your home or office network. If WebRTC shows your real IP, change the profile's WebRTC setting and test again.
One profile per proxy
Give each account its own profile and proxy. A steady IP and location per account keeps logins consistent, so security checks don't see an account jump between countries.
Use sticky residential or mobile for the job at hand. Replace the proxy in that one profile when it expires. Don't move a proxy between profiles of different accounts.
A proxy does not make anything against a platform's terms acceptable. Follow each platform's rules and use its own team tools where they exist.
Common errors
- Wrong format or type. Dolphin may show a format error if the line is wrong. Its help asks for no extra spaces, symbols or typos. Use host:port:login:password and set the type to SOCKS5.
- Copy-paste spaces. A leading or trailing space is enough to break the line. Paste into a plain text field first, then copy again.
- Expired sticky proxy. After up to 24 hours the IP may be gone. If the check turns red on a profile that worked yesterday, look at the proxy in your dashboard.
- Proxy offline. Dolphin shows a connection error when the proxy doesn't answer. Try another network to rule out your own connection, then ask support on Telegram. A sticky proxy that fails a live test in its first hour can be refunded to your balance.
FAQ
Does Dolphin Anty support SOCKS5 proxies?
Yes. Dolphin's docs describe SOCKS5 as one of the proxy types you can set.
Can I paste HOST:PORT:USER:PASS directly?
Yes. Host:port:login:password is one of the formats Dolphin lists.
What does the red mark next to my proxy mean?
The check failed. Look for a wrong type, a stray space, an expired sticky IP, or a proxy that is offline.
Should I use the same proxy in two profiles?
Not for accounts you keep. Give each one its own proxy.
